What's your motivator?  Mine is a car like an E Type Jag convertible with beautiful interior and a sound system to match!  I'm someone who is motivated by the carrot, not the stick.  

When it comes to compelling your audience to consider your event, are you using the carrot or the stick?  Have you worked out your audience demographic and considered what they might be motivate by?

If they're motivated by fear (the stick), then scarcity will work, or FOMO.  But if they're motivated by the good stuff (the carrot), then bonuses would be the perfect option for them.

Motivated by the carrot
