About the Organiser

Hey, I'm Sally and I've been an event producer in Brisbane for many years.

The Event Managers Network was started by Genevieve Deaconis around 2017. Gen had a desire to connect Brisbane's event community and provide opportunities to collaborate and learn from each other. I believe whole heartedly in this mission and in addition, I think we have not only lots to learn from our contemporaries, but also people in other fields who gather audiences, such as music, festivals, dance, film and theatre.

I own the event company Red Lanyard, as well as coach and train people in the art of event planning, filling the gap between a full blown qualification, and doing things on the fly. I love everything about the event planning and delivery and I love nothing more than hanging out with and hearing from people who do the same.
